RAPID ARROWS or Where Have All the Gentlemen Gone?

RAPID ARROWS or Where Have All the Gentlemen Gone?

8 men, 5 women + puppets (optional); may employ more actors and actresses

The basis for this dramatization is Foglar’s illustrated series, which was first published in 1938 in the magazine Young Herald. The stage version of these suspenseful and adventurous tales enables the younger viewer to become acquainted with – and the older viewer to recall – the famous Rapid Arrows Club consisting of those five fabled boys – Mirek Dušín, Jarka Metelka, Red Cap, Speedy and Jindra Hojer. The production doesn’t overlook roles for the fairer sex in theater ensembles. It even provides the chance for girls or women to play Dlouhé Bidlo, Bohoušek or Štětináč in so-called “breeches roles”.

The comedy is rounded out by a selection of contemporary songs including Only for Today, The Hairy Cactus and Grandma Mary.
