THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE Or JUST PRETENDING

4 men, 1 woman or 3 men, 2 women

This dramatization of the classic fairy tale The Gingerbread House, written by Vlastimil Peška, ranks among his most frequently staged adaptations. It should be mentioned that the Metropolitan Theater in Zlín has produced this play for its youngest theatergoers for a second time. The North Moravian Theater in Šumperk also produced Peška´s “Gingerbread Tale” with resounding success. It is featured in the repertoire of the Horácké Theater in Jihlava, and the Radost Theater is currently preparing for its second running. The production is staged as an imaginary, fanciful tale. Everything unfolds as in make-believe; even the frightful and cruel things, thanks to the freedom in the format, ultimately become funny and playful. The characters themselves exude this liveliness, which entertains and pleases not only the young viewers, but the participants themselves.
