Cinderella or A Fairy Tale from Grandma’s Chest

Cinderella or A Fairy Tale from Grandma’s Chest

3 men, 3 women, but also 4 + 4, or 2 + 6

A treatment of the classic fairy tale about the hard-working, beautiful and kindly Cinderella, the evil stepmother with her two silly and frivolous daughters, and the prince who searches for his beloved Cinderella from one town to another, with just her delicate slipper to aid him. He finds her in the end of course, thus proving that goodness is rightfully rewarded, as in every proper fairy-tale. Peška´s treatment offers up both romantic and humorous themes. The author even recommends casting a male actor in the role of the stepmother.

The casting may be variable in content. For example, 3 women + 3 men, or 4 women and 4 men, or even just 2 men + 6 women. This fairy tale may even be performed by a cast of children, for which the production provides up to ten roles.
